Mark needed a quivershot for 6 surf magazine. A quivershot is where a surfer shows some of the boards he rides. I had a few ideas and we tried this one. Most of the times quivershots look the same. Guy with boards laying in the grass or what not. I wanted to do something different, and fool around with the little flashes.
I had to wait with this post until the Six was released. And it has been now.
I thought that by shooting it wide I’d get enough negative space for the type. Part of the quiver shot is the text that explains each board. Length, width, thickness and why the surfer likes it. In the end they used it quite different…
3 Nikon SB flashes, pocketwizards, stands for the boards and a big derelict warehouse. Great place to shoot in!
