A few days ago, I had already decided who to shoot and this morning I still had 2 options on the how. But 1 hour into this day I already had my dailyclick. Not expected and just there. Here’s what happened:
Noa, my almost 4 year old daughter, is crazy about my 13 year old bordercolly Snow. Every time she (Noa) gets sad/upset she wants to cuddle with Snow. When I get mad at Snow she says that I shouldn’t. She is as sweet to Snow as an almost 4 year old can be. Yesterday night Nicole told me that Noa had realized that Snow can and will die. Realistically sooner than later. Now I think Noa knows that when someone dies, it means that they are gone and not coming back. She just hadn’t considered that it could happen to Snow. She got very, very sad. Almost inconsolable.
This morning when we were having breakfast it hit her again, not as bad as yesterday but still. She went over to Snow who was still waking up in her dog bed and gave her the most heartwarming cuddle you have ever seen, this is the moment right after. This has to be one of the most touching pictures I have ever taken. Now let’s hope Snow stays with us a lot longer!
Again shot available light on a Nikon D70 with a 50mm 1.4

Wat een heerlijke foto! Hun gelaatsuitdrukkingen matchen perfekt!
Snow is still soooo young, Coen and I expect her (and you lot) here this summer! Thinking or dreaming about death usually gives the subject a prolonged life. How about that!

Prachtige foto Alex!
A tear in my eye popped up! Can’t help myself.
