It has begun. Today my 365 project starts. Here you can read the why, what and how.
After having my go to lens breakdown for the 3 time, Nikon also wanted my camera body to make a complete analyses. Unfortunately I had 3 shoots lined up this week and I didn’t feel like doing them with a 5 year old Nikon D70 with broken buttons and a LCD that doesn’t work properly. So I gave my friend and photographer Koen Veldman (aka Larry Kook) a call to see if I could borrow his camera. Luckily I could. So the last few days I’ve been using his Nikon D700. I didn’t expect the quality difference between the D300 and D700 to be this big. It’s HUGE!! Feels like shooting film again. My 70-200 is 70-200. It used to be my go to lens, but not anymore cause of the crop sensor in the D300. Yesterday I realized that I was gonna start my 365 project without actually having a decent DSLR. Now I know that it’s not the camera that counts, but something a little more up to date than my old and busted D70 would be nice. So before I gave Koen his camera back I had to give him the doubtful honor of being in my first 365 post. So here he is, Koen and his trusty fixed gear bike.
Thank you Koen!
Shot available light, with a Nikon D700 and a 50 mm 1.4. Silver Efex Pro for the B/W conversion.
